Ion Salisteanu
Ion Salisteanu was born on October, the 6th 1929 in Pitesti, Arges county. He graduated “Nicolae Grigorescu” ,the Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, class of 1955. Since 1944 he has regularly attended the municipal, republican, festive, experimental or group exhibitions both in Romania and abroad. He also worked as a teacher, at “Nicolae Grigorescu”. He was awarded the following: the FAU Award for Painting (1964,1985), the “Cultural merit” Order, cl.III (1968,1974), “Ion Andreescu” Award granted by the Romanian Academy, C.C.E.S.
